The day of Makarsankranti could be of additional importance this year, especially to the MBA aspirants who have appeared for CAT 2013 and are eagerly awaiting the CAT 2013 results. More than 1,94,000 candidates took the Common Admission Test (CAT 2013) for admissions to the Indian Institutes of Management and other premier B-schools across the country this year.
Last year, 1,91,642 candidates appeared for the test as reported in various media reports. A release from the official testing agency, Prometric, said candidates who appeared on time with proper documentation successfully completed their tests. The CAT 2013 results, expected to be announced on January 14, 2014, would be available at the CAT website.
With the increase in the number of Indian Management Institutes, total 115 seats were added for B-School admissions this year, taking the total tally to 3,335 seats. This could result in more than 15,000 students getting calls from the IIMs alone and further increase in seats has also happened in other premier b schools across India.
