CAT 2015 – Best Strategy to Crack CAT

We have received multiple queries from MBA aspirants asking as to what is the best strategy to crack the CAT 2015 examination. Your preparation strategy would wary depending on the stage you are in your career. Largely – we have highlighted some pointers that you need to keep in mind to ensure you have the right plan working:

  1. Join a test series to begin your preparation and test yourself against your peers
  2. Start judging your strengths and weaknesses every weekend based on your mock up preparation and performance for CAT 2015
  3. Start by giving a mock today to understand where you stand and how long you need to travel in your MBA/CAT 2015 preparation journey
  4. You should fix a schedule for your preparation. Rough estimate – 2 hours on weekdays and 6 hours on weekends for 4 months will be helpful, however you need to adapt as per your needs
  5. Synchronize your body clock with the time you have your exam. It means that you must try and run on a schedule everyday that you’d follow on the exam day
  6. Strategic sitting hours is very important. You must make it a habit to focus for 2 – 2.5 hours of your single sitting and ensure you have highest concentration during that stint
  7. CAT 2015 is a timed test – So make sure that you solve questions quickly. Gauge a question and skip it if you feel that it will take more time
  8. CAT 2015 is a computer based test – So make sure that you are at ease with the format and scrolling, parsing etc.
  9. CAT 2015 is a test of accuracy – So make sure that your accuracy is above 80%. Make calculated educated guesses if you really have to
  10. Check the solutions, thoroughly. For every question that you were unable to answer, try to genuinely understand the solution provided by the book/institute
